Tyla Named World Artist of the Year At Major International Awards

Tyla Named World Artist of the Year At Major International Awards. It’s another major win for the phenomenal Tyla. Her trophy cabinet is well decorated with a GRAMMY, a BET, a VMA and some MTV EMAs among other big wins.

Keeping up her winning momentum, Tyla is among the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards winners. She won the World Artist of the Year Award, becoming the first ever winner in the new category. Another record she made was being the first South African to win an iHeartRadio Music Award. Tyla was competing with other international artists, Burna Boy, Central Cee, Tems and YG Marley. How cool is it that the award came to SA!

Her song Water, was nominated under the R&B Song of the Year category. The award, however went to Muna Long, for her song, Made for Me. The hit song was also nominated under the Dance Song of the Year category. The award went to“360” by Charli xcx.

The 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards celebrated the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2024. The show aired live from Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Monday, March 17 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET live / PT tape-delayed) on FOX. The event was also heard on iHeartRadio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app. The show’s executive producers were Joel Gallen, for Tenth Planet; and John Sykes, Tom Poleman and Bart Peters, for iHeartMedia.
