Didintle Khunou Bags A Lead Role In A Star Studded Film. Congratulations are in order for Didintle Khunou who has just bagged herself a lead role. The award winning actress has been cast in an upcoming movie, A Scam Called Love.
Didintle plays Zola, an ambitious chef chasing her culinary dreams. She stars alongside UK-based rising star Tobi Bamtefa (Mayor of Kingstown) as Julian, a carefree line cook with a love for risk. A Scam Called Love takes audiences on a hilariously chaotic journey. The film follows Zola and Julian as they enter a green-card marriage to solve their financial and immigration woes. But keeping up the lie for government officials is nothing compared to fooling their own families.
The supporting cast includes local stars such as Brenda Ngxoli, Thando Thabethe, Lwazi Mthembu, Fezile Mpela, Rendani Mufamadi, and Trevor Gumbi. Viewers are definitely in for a feast.
A Scam Called Love, is directed and written by the powerhouse husband-and-wife duo Carla Fonseca Mokgata and Nthato Mokgata, also known as Spoek Mathambo.
A Scam Called Love premieres nationwide at Sterk-Kinekor and Nu Metro screens on Friday, 7 March 2025.
Didintle has been in the acting game for sometime now, and still remains relevant. Many came to know her as Mapula on The Throne season I and Esther Ndlovu on Isono. Didintle has also been on shows such as Mamello, Bona Reetsang, Single Galz, 13 Weeks to find Mr. Right, Savage Beauty, In Your Dreams and Soon Comes Night. Didintle was also part of A Better Life, a drama commissioned and produced by The Market Theatre as part of the 45th year programming celebration. She currently plays Tumelo Gcabashe in Generations: The Legacy.
