Applications Open for the Department of Water and Sanitation Internship Programme. The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has launched its 2025 Internship Programme. The DWS aims to equip interns with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the professional world. Internship opportunities are available across several critical sectors, offering invaluable exposure to industry-specific roles.

Requirements

  1. Be an unemployed South African graduate between the ages of 18-35 to apply for the 2025/2
  2. Applicants who have previously participated in an internship program will not be considered.
  3. Required Documents:
    • A completed Z83 form, available on the DWS or DPSA websites.
    • A comprehensive CV detailing personal and academic information.
    • Copies of qualifications and ID documents (only required from shortlisted candidates).

Available Internship Positions

  • Risk Management: 3 positions, plus 1 earmarked for persons with disabilities.
  • Administration: 1 position.
  • Employee Health and Wellness:
    • Occupational Health and Safety: 1 position.
    • Social Work / Psychology: 1 position.
  • Human Resource Development: 2 positions.
  • Financial Management: 3 positions in Mpumalanga (Mbombela).
  • Information Communication Technologies: 3 positions in Mpumalanga (Mbombela).
  • Communication: 1 position in Mpumalanga (Mbombela).
  • Human Resource Management:
    • 3 positions in Mpumalanga (Mbombela).
    • 1 position in Eastern Cape (King William’s Town).
  • Auxiliary Services: 2 positions in Mpumalanga (Mbombela).
  • Supply Chain Management: 2 positions in Eastern Cape (King William’s Town).

  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management / Human Resource Development.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Office Administration / Public Management.
  • N6 Certificate or National Diploma in Hospitality Management.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Financial Management /Accounting.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Information and Communication Technologies / Information Technology or relevant study field.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Communication / Media Studies.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Purchasing Management relevant qualification.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Information Communication Technologies or relevant qualification.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management /
  • Management of Training / Human Resource Development / Labour Relations or relevant qualification.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Public Management / Administration or relevant qualification.
