Tuesday evening, Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, and his wife, Rachel Kolisi, revealed their decision to divorce after eight years of marriage.

The two got married in 2016, in a beautiful wedding ceremony. They have been blessed with two kids, a boy and a girl. Siya and Rachel also lived with Siya’s two younger siblings, which they raised as their own. The family was always a united front, serving epic love goals that everyone admired.

Yes, just like all the other married couples, Siya and Rachel have faced rocky patches together. There has been women throwing themselves at Siya, undermining Rachel. Some people also felt that the Springbok captain, should have married a black woman, over a white one. Despite everything, the two were a proof that love conquers all. When her husband moved to Paris France in 2023, Rachel and the kids left also, to be with him. That kind of sacrifice can only be found where true love resides.

The couple shocked many when they released a joint statement about ending their marriage. This according to them is the best decision to make. They also expressed their mutual respect and understanding of the situation.

After much reflection and open conversation, we have mutually decided to end our marriage. This decision comes from a place of love, respect, and understanding that this is the best path forward for both of us,” they said.
