Nomzamo Mbatha to Host A Major International Awards Ceremony. It has been a busy past couple of months for Nomzamo Mbatha. The UNHCR Goodwill ambassador has been traveling the world with organizations like the Gates Foundation, Global Citizen tackling serious issues.
As tight as her schedule is, Nomzamo has been able to squeeze in a hosting gig. The talented actress and activist has just been announced as the Nansen Refugee Award host. Established in 1954, the prestigious awards honor individuals, groups and organizations who have taken extraordinary action to protect refugees.
The ceremony will feature an acceptance speech by the global laureate, Sister Rosita Milesi, as well as appearances by the regional winners and performances by Moldovan opera singer Valentina Nafornița, British singer and songwriter Emeli Sandé, and Kat Graham.

Tonight, we honour those who go above and beyond to protect refugees, internally displaced and stateless people,” UNHCR announced in excitement.
Most recently Nomzamo was in Abijan, Cote d’Ivoire at the first ever Economic Development Assembly. The purpose of the assembly was to drive significant financial investments from G20 countries to support the International Development Association (IDA), the World Bank’s largest program to fight extreme poverty, as we approach the IDA21 replenishment.
