Professor Thuli Madonsela States that Chidimma Adetshina Is Lawfully Participating in the Ms SA Competition. This year’s Miss South Africa pageant, will go in history as one of the most talked about. One of the finalists, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina has Nigerian roots, and this has caused an uproar in the country and abroad.
The issue has sparked debates on social media, with people sharing different views. Most of our celebrities who publicly shared their views on social media, are for Chidimma to continue with the competition. Their stance, however, has turned fans against, them, and one of the celebs Lerato Kganyago, has thus deactivated her X account.
Professor Thuli Madonsela, has also joined the conversation. The advocate shared some acts, that shows that Chidimma, is well within her rights to participate in Miss South Africa. Madonsela stated that the contestant is a South African by birth, according to s(2)(1) of the Citizens Act. She asked fellow citizens to thus support all the contestants.

Should she win, she is entitled to represent us as #MissSA2024 #MissSA. As indicated yesterday, your parents need not have been South African for you to be a citizen by birth. Please, let’s stop the noise and support #Chidimma and all #MissSA contestants,” Madonsela said.
