Lerato Kganyago Deactivates X (Twitter) Amidst Miss SA Backlash
Lerato Kganyago Deactivates X (Twitter) Amidst Miss SA Backlash. As the Miss South Africa 2024 finale is nearing, the debate regarding one of the contestants is becoming intense. Ever since the Top 16, Adetshina Chidimma has been making waves, all because of her Nigerian roots.
Although this started off with the general public airing their views on social media, celebrities have also joined in. We have had the likes of Pearl Thusi, Prince Kaybee, Relebogile Mabotja, Ntsiki Mazwai, Somizi and DJ Sbu, share their views on the matter. Most of these personalities see nothing wrong with Chidimma as a Miss SA contestant, and possibly winning.
Lerato Kganyago is the latest celebrity to join in on the debate. The media personality, DJ and entrepreneur states that she is disappointment with Minister Gayton McKenzie’s views about Miss SA finalist, Chidimma. Lerato revealed in an Instagram LIVE with Somizi that she hopes Chidimma Adetshina gets therapy. The Crown Chasers judge also added that South Africans find it easier to attack black women because they are weaker.
“I wouldn’t be part of an organization that is dishonest. There was proper vetting that was done, proper research and proper documentation were received to proof she is South African.”
“My opinion is based on facts. I respect everyone’s frustration. It’s easier to attack a black woman. There was a Miss South Africa a while ago, one was Portuguese.”
“The only person I feel sorry for is this young lady. I hope she gets therapy. Let’s base our points on facts. Social media is so dangerous. “
“I was a bit disappointed with the minister yesterday. The last statement he said, ‘it looks dodgy’ because now we are putting the life of this young lady in danger, ” Lerato said.
As expected, Lerato and Somizi’s conversation made many social media users angry. The two public figures are now being dragged on X, for their views. Lerato temporarily deactivated her account, probably to not let the negativity get to her.
