Pearl Thusi States Adetshina Chidimma Is South African, and Here Is Why
Pearl Thusi States Adetshina Chidimma Is South African, and Here Is Why. It goes without saying that Adetshina Chidimma is the most talked about Miss South Africa contestant ever. Well, in the past there has been bullying and racism controversies, but her issue has surpassed all the drama that the pageant has ever experienced.
The beauty queen and model apparently has Nigerian and Mozambican roots. Her biography on the Miss SA website, however, says she is a model from Soweto. Because of this, many have called for the Top 13 contestant to be removed. A petition has also been made online, where citizens are asked to sign. The main aim of the petition is for Chidimma to withdraw from Miss SA competition.
There are some personalities though, who see no reason for Chidimma to withdraw. One such is Prince Kaybee, who publicly stated he wishes that she wins the crown. The musician, however, had a change of thought on Tuesday, after a video of Chidimma celebrating with her Nigerian family trended on social media. They were happy for her, on going this far in the competition. The fact that the Nigerian culture was seemingly celebrated, did not sit well with a lot of people. One of those who was disturbed by the video is Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie. He promised that he was going to dig more information.
Unlike some of her peers, Pearl Thusi has boldly taken to social media to stand by Chidimma. The media personality and actress shared that Chidimma is South African, therefore, she should compete in the pageant. Pearl said, by virtue of her being born and raised here, she is automatically a citizen. This is regardless of her parent’s country or countries of origin.
As expected, this did not st well with social media users, and Pearl is now being dragged.
