Full List of the 2024 Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela Awards Winners. Over the weekend, the masses gathered at the Playhouse Theatre in KZN for a spectacular evening honoring the best in film and television. This was for the prestigious Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela Awards.
The awards recognize outstanding achievement and excellence within the South African film and television industry, focusing on KwaZulu-Natal. Nominees included actors, producers, directors, and various film and television technicians. Among those who walked away with gongs include Thembinkosi Mthembu, Deli Malinga, Melusi Yeni and Slindile Nodangala.
Also at the awards, tribute was paid to the late Mbongeni Ngema who also won best supporting actor in film, Mpho Sebeng as well as other creators who have passed on. KZN Film and TV Awards 2024 also honoured the first black Miss SA and veteran actress, Cynthia Shange, for her work over decades.
