1. Ayanda Bandla is from Soweto in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
2. She is a Political Science graduate with a specialty in International Relations from the University of Pretoria.
3. In 2011, Ayanda was a contestant in Season I of One Day Leader. The project identifies and develop young dynamic leaders of tomorrow. The show also focuses the public’s attention on critical social and economic issues facing our nation.
4. Her television career began in the field of News and Actuality when she joined etv’s flagship breakfast show Sunrise.
5. Having started out as a Sub-editor on the program, Ayanda’s work gradually expanded to include writing, producing, field reporting, anchoring and recording voice-overs for the show.
6. She was first discovered by actor Leroy Gopal, and the two are now best of friends. He’s the one who saw the star quality in Ayanda and motivated her to join his acting workshops. After she completed the workshops, Ayanda then decided to get an agent and got her first acting gig in 2016.
7. The talented actress has also starred in Identity as Gugulethu, Katlego Nqobile in Lavish and Lakhe Amon in uBettina Wethu.
8. A year ago, she bagged her first lead role as Thandiswa in hit drama series Smoke and Mirrors. Currently married to Caesar Ngonyama, Thandiswa is quite cutthroat and very unwavering in what she wants.
9. Sorry gents, Ayanda is a taken lady. A couple of weeks back, she got married to Mqondisi Ngubane, in a lavish ceremony. The two have worked together in a couple of project, with the recent one seeing Ayanda hold it down as an executive producer.
10. Ayanda is fluent in English, isiZulu, isiXhosa, seSotho and seTswana. She is also a vocalist, voice-over artist and producer.
