The seasoned broadcaster started his career in broadcasting, after getting a break at P4 Radio Cape Town (now Heart FM). Walter also began Freelancing in the same year for City Press newspaper as their Cape Town soccer correspondent. He then joined Kaya FM as a Sports anchor for their breakfast show, as well as the Soccer talk-show host.
In the year 2000, he joined the SABC, as an anchor for the popular Saturday afternoon prime-time sports show, Mabaleng. Walter then went on to host many flagship shows on SABC 1, such as the Monday night Coca Coca Soccer Zone for 4 years; the Friday night boxing show, Blow by blow for 4 years and the Live Football show, Laduma, for 10 years.
Some of his major highlights include presented the 2010 FIFA World Cup host nation announcement live from Zurich, as well as covering the Athens Olympics. He also presented the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Walter then took some time off to assess a stellar career and the way forward, with a 3 year sabbatical to Paris. He joined Paris-based Sports network, Trace Sports, as one of their anchors, in 2013.In 2015, Walter e-joined the SABC as their Football anchor, and the following year, he presented the European championship in France.
The CEO and founder of the MySportsBook app, has hinted that he might be making a TV comeback. Walter has been sharing videos and images of himself in front of a camera, and we are here for the captions.
