10 Interesting Facts About Skeem Saam’s Thabang Lefoa (Sphola)
1. Thabang Lefoa was born in Tlhabane, Rustenburg in the North West province in 1983. His family moved to Tembisa when he was five years old.
2. He attended the Rosina Sedibane Sports School before proceeding to the International Academy of Film and Television. Over the years, he has supplemented his knowledge with business courses, which helped him to become an entrepreneur.
3. Thabang also attended a Culinary School where he learnt to be a chef. He normally attends culinary events around the country.
4. He is also well known as an actor. Thabang is best known for his leading roles as Andile and Prince on the first and second seasons of the e.tv drama series eKasi: Our Stories.
5. In 2009 he landed a small role in the SABC2 drama series 90 Plein Street, as one of the comrade leaders. In 2008 he had a small role in the SABC1 soapie Generations as Pule, who works at Pan African radio station as a technician.
6. He has also had leading roles in several short films as well as in numerous theatre productions.
7. Thabang also plays Dr Tsietsi Aphane on The Wife Season III. Tseitsi is Naledi’s close friend from med-school. Throughout the years Tseitsi has secretly fallen in love with Naledi, but unfortunately for him, he’s been friend-zoned.
8. The talented actor currently plays the role of Sphola in SABC1 educational drama, Skeem Saam. Sphola has grown from being a culinary student, to now holding the position of Bazaruto Club Manager.
9. He recently got cast as Tshepo Phiri on Kokota. The Mzansi Magic drama show, sheds some light on the ever-growing Amapiano genre.
10. Thabang is a proud father, who is forever posting his adorable kids on Instagram.
