DJ Zinhle Celebrates A Major Career Milestone. For close to two decades, she has been consistent in the game. DJ Zinhle has managed to excel in the industry that is not so kind to women, and is one of the best female DJs in the African continent.
The multi award winning DJ, started her career around 2004.She got her first break as a resident DJ on the hit youth dance show Jika Majika that aired on SABC 1.
Zinhle’s talent behind the turntables quickly caught the attention of industry insiders, and she began to make a name for herself as a DJ in Durban’s vibrant music scene. Her unique style, charisma, and knack for reading the crowd set her apart from the rest. It wasn’t long before she started headlining major events and establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.
Her amazing CV boasts working with popular band Boom Shaka on the album I Put It In, featuring other notable artists like Dr Malinga, Khanyi Mbau and Mphoza. Zinhle also headlined the Sisters with Soul concert along with Amanda Black. She also headlined the Zimfest 2019 live concert, a Zimbabwean festival held in England. Zinhle was chosen as the headline act for the inaugural Red Bull Music Experience in Cape Town.
She has bagged a number of awards including Best House DJ and Best House Female Artist at Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards. Her 2019 hit single “Umlilo” gained 5.1 million streams in just three months, and certified 3× platinum by the Recording industry of South Africa (RISA). It was also voted as 2019’s Song of The Year.
This is her 19th year in the game, and she is more than grateful.
