“It Will Take Some Time,” Hungani Ndlovu On Being Compared to Cornet Mamabolo. He is currently trending on social media platforms. This is after it was announced that Hungani Ndlovu will be joining educational SABC1 drama, Skeem Saam.

The talented actor, dancer and YouTuber has been cast to play the role of Thabo Tbose Maputla. At the moment, Tbose is oversees, where he is working, and he left his wife Mapitsi and their son at Turfloop. There hasn’t been much storyline related to him, and with a new actor, Tbose is definitely making a comeback. Hungani will be with the show, come July and many of his fans can’t wait.

Another talent, Cornet Mamabolo was the man behind the character since the beginning of Skeem Saam over a decade ago. Although Cornet made it seem like he was only taking a break from the hit drama, it now looks like he is gone for good.

As expected the news of him being replaced by Hungani have been received with mixed reactions. Hungani made a name for himself as Romeo Medupe in Scandal!, and many still associate him with that cheese-boy role. They don’t see the actor fitting in Skeem Saam, where Sepedi is the main language.

Hungani took it upon himself to address those happy for him as well as those with reservations.

“Thank you to everyone showing love and I trust we will grow together on this new journey. It will take some time to let go of the comparison between myself and Cornet Mamabolo and that’s understandable because he did an amazing job at building and crafting this character. As I step in, I bring a new feel and new perspective to who Tbose is and I’m excited for this journey,” he said.
