Gail Shares More Throwbacks About Her Including Being On Idols SA Among Other Shows. One thing about Gail Mabalane, she is all sorts of talented, but humble about it. Her talents range from being a beaut queen, a singer, an actress to an entrepreneur.
Her breakthrough in the industry came by in 2010, when she auditioned in Idols SA Season 6. Gail showed massive potential, and became a Top 10 Finalist. She was the first to be eliminated in the Top 10, after performing “Please Don’t Leave Me”, originally by Pink.
In 2011,the multi-talented Gail obtained her major acting debut role as Lelo Sedibe on the MNet TV Series The Wild. In August 2015, she made her first appearance on Generations: The Legacy. The talented Gail also plays Thandeka Khumalo on Blood and Water which is only available on Netflix. Recently she bagged her first lead as domestic worker, Zenzi Mwale on Netflix new series, Unseen.
She is also a beauty queen of note. Her mother entered her into her first pageant, “Miss Tinkerbell” when she was five years old. It was at this point that her family noticed her potential. In 2005, Gail entered one of the biggest beauty pageants in the country, Miss SA Teen. She went on to be in the finals, making it all the way to Top 5. Gail even became Miss Kaizer Chiefs at some point.
Gail has once again revealed something about her that even some of her peers in the industry were not aware of. She entered the MTV Base Presenter Search which was won by Sizwe Dhlomo. Other personalities who tried their luck for that gig include Trevor Noah and Anele Mdoda, as Sizwe revealed. Of everything she has done and achieved, Gail’s humility stands out!
