One tradition that is quite common among our celebrities, is Umemulo. This is a traditional Zulu coming of age ceremony for women. This ritual is usually done for females at the age of 21, but it can be done at any stage of a woman’s life, it varies and depends on circumstances. The likes of Ntando Duma, Minnie Dlamini, Sbahle Mpisane, Nokuthula “Nocxy” Mabika and Nelisa Mchunu, are among the many celebrities who have had Umemulo in recent years.
Another celebrity Hope Mbhele, recently had her Umemulo. In the company of family, friends and the community, she celebrated her coming of age ceremony this past weekend. She rocked a beautiful traditional outfit from, Emandulo house of Culture and Heritage. The fashion house is owned by another actress and entrepreneur Faith Nelisiwe Sibia.
Hope was showered with man gifts, among them large amounts of cash and a brand new car. The actress and media personality took to social media to share her special day with fans and followers.
“No words. Just a full heart 🥺🤍,” Hope said in gratitude.
Apart from being in the entertainment industry, Hope is also into entrepreneurship. She recently launched Juice Bros, a 100% raw blend. It has no added sugars and preservatives. The juices are cold pressed, which means all natural vitamins, enzymes, minerals and antioxidants are preserved. The Durban franchise is now open and available for ordering and deliveries.
