ICYMI! Kelly Khumalo And Senzo Meyiwa’s Daughter Shows Off Her Impressive Football Playing Skills. Talk about the apple not falling far from the tree! Thingo Khumalo is not only the spiting image of her father, she is also a football star in the making.
She is of course the daughter of the late Senzo Meyiwa, who made a name for himself as a local professional footballer. Meyiwa played as a goalkeeper and captain for both Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League, and the South African national team, Bafana Bafana. He was one of the best in his time, and many youngsters aspired to be him. Sadly Meyiwa passed away on the 26th of October 2014 after he was shot and killed in a home invasion. He is survived by his three children, Thingo, Nana Meyiwa, and Namhla Meyiwa.
Thingo was just 7months old when her father Meyiwa, lost his life. This means that the little girl didn’t get to know him at all, as she was still a baby. She will only rely on stories told about Meyiwa, pictures as well as videos of her legendary father. One thing for sure though, Thingo took after her father, when it comes to football. This is one special thing she will hold on to, to times indefinite.
Her mom Kelly Khumalo recently shared a video of Thingo playing football in what looks like their backyard. The nine-year-old little girl, showed off quite impressive skills, that even some professional stars can’t pull off. Those who watched the video can’t stopped gushing over how good Thingo is. Some commented that she reminded them of the late Meyiwa. It goes without saying that talent definitely runs in her veins, as she is also a good singer like mommy.
“Thingo LweNkosazane 🌈 🤴🏾🐆,” Kelly captioned the heartwarming video.
