“I Lost My Mom,”Simphiwe Dana. Losing a parent, no matter your age is one of the most devastating experiences one can go through. Also as the case with Simphiwe Dana, it doesn’t matter how long ago it happened, this is a pain that you can’t get over easily.

In July 2021, the multi-talented singer and songwriter lost her mother. On the death announcement, Simphiwe spoke highly of her mother who not only raised her biological children, but also her adopted ones as well.

“Our wonderful mother, MamJoli, left us earlier today. We are wounded, but grateful for the grace with which she raised us and all her other adopted children. Please hold us in prayer,” Simphiwe tweeted.

Over one a a half years later, Simphiwe has once again taken to Twitter to mourn. Not saying much, she just tweeted that she lost her mom. It is not clear if she is remembering her late mother, or someone that she regards as a mother figure has just passed on. Nonetheless, Simphiwe is receiving heartfelt condolence messages from her fans and followers.

Whatever the case we take this opportunity to wish Simphiwe and her loved ones healing during this difficult time.
