Penny Lebyane Sets the Record Straight On Allegations that She Paid DJ Fresh

On Monday DJ Fresh stood in for MacG and hosted the latest episode of Podcast and Chill. As expected the episode was fire as Fresh and Sol Phenduka have so much chemistry on air.

Among the topics that Fresh and Sol tackled include, radio vs podcast, SABC, Netflix, as well as Focalistic and DBN Gogo who are rumored to have split. Of course there was no way the two were not going to leave out the controversial court case between Ntsiki Mazwai and Fresh.

Fresh shared how Ntsiki’s alleged irresponsible tweeting led him to sue her for defamation after calling him an abuser. This was after a woman accused DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik of drugging and raping her and three other women at a party in Johannesburg in 2011. However, the NPA, confirmed there were no prospects of “a successful prosecution on the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient”.

Because if her social media post Ntsiki allegedly paid off R200 000 in legal fees to DJ Fresh. There are also reports that Fresh’s ex Penny Lebyane has also parted with R80 000 a case of defamation was against him. Well, this is probably because, Penny was quite vocal on social media about what young women who have been abused by famous men go through.

This morning Penny took to social media to share her side of the story. The veteran media personality revealed that she did not pay anyone a cent. She stated that she was not part of the case, but wanted the court to clarify why her name was written on the affidavit.

I will stand in my truth as l always have. I just wish he would “Keep My Name Out Of His Mouth” and stop policing my Lived Experience and centering himself,” Penny said.
