Lerato Moloi Remembers Her Late Mother As She Celebrates Her Birthday

Lerato Moloi Remembers Her Late Mother As She Celebrates Her Birthday. In July 2020, we lost one of our most talented actresses Candy Moloi. The veteran entertainer passed away after a long battle with cancer. Moloi made a name for herself on her starring role as Vho-Makhadzi on the SABC2 soap opera Muvhango. She also had starring roles on Thola, Death of a Queen and had a recurring role on Giyani. Her impressive accolades include, winning the 2009 SAFTA for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Soap for her popular role Vho-Makhadzi on Muvhango.

Her daughter Lerato Zah Moloi, followed in her mother’s footsteps to become an actress of note. The former Rhythm City actress was hit hard by her mother’s passing, more so since she walked the gruesome journey of cancer with her. At her mother’s  memorial service, Lerato detailed how her mother battled with cancer for years, and being in and out of the hospital for two years. As it is normally the case with most people, Lerato tends to remember her mother more on special dates. A day ago, Lerato celebrated her birthday, and decided to honor her late mother. Since she gave birth to her, Lerato sees Candy as a very special part of her birthday, hence she decided to celebrate her as well. “My Mom gave birth to me so therefore it’s her Birthday too akere…  Happy Birthday to US, Mama!  Side note: How stunning is my Mommy in this pic?  My Candy Gal, Lerato said. https://twitter.com/lerato_zah/status/1614216899545513986?s=20&t=xXPx3RcopwVApDrg2a1GsA It is quite heartwarming to see Lerato this happy, more so since she expressed sadness this festive season. She was down, because she spent the holidays with no parents, but at the same time was grateful for the remaining members of her family. “Christmas hits different when you don’t have parents anymore…  however I’m grateful for the remaining family I have.  Merry Christmas beloved. Hope y’all are spending it with the ones that love you and the ones you love,” she tweeted.
