Nomvelo Makhanya Desperate to Find Her Friend Who Has Been Missing For Years. Missing people are a real concern here in South Africa. In March 2022, Missing Children South Africa said, it roughly records between 60 and 90 missing people cases per month. Some get found alive, others dead, whereas there are those who just disappear without a trace.

The loved ones of missing people exhaust every kind of resource in a bid to find them. Most turn to social media platforms with the hope that someone can come out about helpful information. One individual who has been using social media to find a missing loved one is Nomvelo Makhanya. The award winning actress’s friend Karabo Ncube went missing in 2018.

Then 20-year-old Karabo went missing on March 25 2018 in Braam, heading for Bree taxi rank around 11:40. She was wearing dark blue jeans, a black top and had a black fanny pack on her. Karabo immediately topped the Twitter trends list under the hashtag #KaraboNcube as a social media campaign was started to track her whereabouts. This sadly was unsuccessful.
