Mduduzi Mabaso Bags Another Acting Gig. He resonates well with the saying that, ‘When one door closes other doors open. Two years ago when Rhythm City came to an end, Mduduzi Mabaso who played Suffocate on the e.tv soapie was among the actors who now had no job. That was short lived though, because immediately after that, he bagged a lead role as Mgedeza on Diep City.

On the award winning Mzansi Magic telenovela which is taking the country by storm, Mabaso plays the devilish Mgedeza. He is a criminal who has been terrorizing the community for years. Mgedeza uses four young women from humble backgrounds who have been forced into crime while in high school, just to make ends meet. Sadly after two seasons, Diep City, produced by Mandla N of Black Brain Productions is coming to an end. The show  will air its final episode on March 3 2023.

The question that always comes out when this happens, is what will happen to the cast and crew members. Well for someone as talented and experienced as Mabaso, he knows he doesn’t have to worry too much. Already another show has scooped him, thanks to his impressive resume.

Mabaso has joined the cast of The Estate, where he will play the role of Khulekani Nzimande. Khulekani is a traditionally inclined but global man, assertive and cares about his family and his sister, Noxolo played by actress and TV personality, Lerato Mvelase. Mabaso will debut on the show this coming Friday, 9 December.
