Check Out the Avance Media 2022 100 Most Influential African Women List. That time of the year has finally arrived to celebrate phenomenal women who have been influential in our communities. Leading African PR and rating firm, Avance Media through its girls’ empowerment project, Be A Girl, has launched this annual publication to highlight and celebrate the astounding accomplishments of 100 women from Africa dubbed: 100 Most Influential African Women.
The women on the list are individuals who have climbed the corporate ladder, started their own businesses, or have been at the forefront of decision making both locally and internationally. Notable personalities featured include but are not limited to: Presidents, Diplomats, Board Chairs, CEOs, Scholars, Chancellors, Politicians, and Philanthropists but must be individuals of distinguished personalities in their field of work.
Very notable among the influential women are, H.E. Sahle-Work Zewde and H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan presidents of Ethiopia and Tanzania respectively, and H.E. Jessica Alupo, H.E. Jewel Taylor H.E. Mariam Chabi Talata, H.E. Mutale Nalumango, H.E. Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior, Vice Presidents of Uganda, Liberia, Benin, Zambia and South Sudan respectively.
With a record of 36 African countries represented on the list, Nigeria leads with 18 representatives, followed by Kenya (10), Ghana (7), Senegal, (6) and Tanzania (5). As it has always been in the previous years, South Africa is well represented on this year’s list. Former first lady of South Africa Graca Machel, former United Nations official and gender activist Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka as well as medical doctor, author and TV personality Tlaleng Mofokeng have made the cut on this year’s Avance Media 2022 100 most influential African women list.
