Thandiswa Mazwai Elaborates More on the Iconic Picture She Took With Michael Jackson. This moment here gives Thandiswa Mazwai all the bragging rights she can get. She was part of the Bongo Maffin group members who got to pose for pictures with the likes of Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela.
On that particular day, Michael was visiting South Africa to meet the then-president Mandela where he met a number of then-high-profile musicians including Thandiswa, Stoan Seate and Speedy. The multi-talented American pop star then gave our local stars a moment to remember by taking pictures with them, alongside Mandela.
In one of the pictures, Thandiswa was flanked by Mandela and Michael, an occurrence that could have made most of us freeze. Not Thandiswa though, because she was all poised and held her own, since she is also a star to be reckoned with. The pictures have re-emerged once again online, with a video of Thandiswa cautioning Michael for stepping on her toes.
With a smile on her face, the award winning songstress told Michael that he had put his foot on hers and the King of Pop immediately apologized for stepping on her. Catching on the light moment, Thandiswa admits that she told MJ to touch her and not pose like they are in the military. She also added that during lunch, Michael was on her left while Mandela was on her right, at the table. Lucky fish!
I bullied MJ the whole day😂 ah my youth was not wasted on me. And actually I said “pls touch me” cos Hawu it’s a picture why stand like we are in the military. We had a long lunch together and he was on my left while Tata was on my right at the table. https://t.co/Ri1YyDDKqj
