Veteran Producer Duma Ndlovu Has Nothing But Gratitude As He Clocks 68 Years. He has been in the industry for decades, and won so many awards, but for Duma Ndlovu there is more to life to be grateful for. He is celebrating his 68th birthday, and can’t help but express

I have been on this earth for 68 years, 68 years of pure joy and bliss. 68 years of abundant blessings and victories. 68 years of smiles and laughter. 68 years of love. I have loved and have been loved and I have the face to show for it all. God has been an amazing God,” he started off his message.

The multi-award winning producer, poet, filmmaker, journalist and playwright went on to appreciate everything that God has done for him. Among his blessings, Ndlovu is grateful for his amazing family. As much as he hates receiving gifts as well as celebrating birthdays, he is looking forward to celebrating with his family, who will obviously shower him with some gifts.

“I always use this occasion to look back and see what God has done for me, what I have been through and what I have been able to achieve. (with God on my side). It has been an amazing journey. I have been able to weather the storms and have been able to stay afloat. I survived Covid when some of my friends did not. I am in good health, in fact I am in excellent health. God has a purpose with my life, I am here for a reason. And that reason is to be happy and to spread happiness,” Ndlovu said in gratitude.

In 1992 Ndlovu founded the Word Of Mouth Productions to mount music, theatre and television productions. The company was successful and a few years later it was chosen as the official casting company in South Africa for the Broadway musical Disney’s The Lion King.

He is also known for creating Muvhango, the first Tshivenda TV drama based in Thathe, Limpopo. At first the show was primarily in TshiVenda but later on other languages were incorporated into the show in order to bridge the cultural divide between the various tribes in South Africa.

Ndlovu also created Imbewu: The Seed with Leleti Khumalo and Anant Singh as executive producers. The hit show airs weekdays on e.tv. Another major TV show that he created is Uzalo, a telenovela shot and based in KwaMashu’s F section in KwaZulu-Natal.
