Kelly Khumalo Still Adamant That She Was Bigger Than Senzo Meyiwa Despite Backlash. Kelly Khumalo has been trending on social media for the past couple of days. This comes after she insinuated in an interview that her late baby daddy Senzo Meyiwa was a nobody until he was associated with her as a brand.

The multi award winning singer and actress recently sat down with Slindelo Masikana of eNCA News following the premiere of her much anticipated new season of her reality show Life With Kelly season 3. On the interview, Kelly had the country talking after she stated that Meyiwa became well known only after he got into a relationship with her.

“I was Kelly Khumalo before Senzo Meyiwa. I didn’t know who Senzo Meyiwa was until a friend of mine Lucio Mthiyane explained to be who he was. Nobody Knew about Senzo Meyiwa until he was associated with the brand Kelly Khumalo….so, I mean, really?..really?…I had nothing to gain, either with his loses or his wins, Kelly said.

As much as a lot of people dragged Kelly over the statement, some agree with her, that she she somewhat made Meyiwa famous. One social media user said Kelly is not lying, by virtue of her becoming a star way before anyone could know of Meyiwa. The tweep mentioned such shows like All You Need Is Love, where Kelly’s then boyfriend proposed to her, making her the talk of the nation.
