The Wife Fans Not Happy With the Choice of Actress Playing Naledi. Almost everyday The Wife trends on social media. When its started the Showmax telenovela was making waves for all the right reasons, but as time went by, there is always a complaint about one thing or the other.

For the longest time viewers have been complaining that The Wife isn’t really a reflection of the book version which was penned by Dudu Busani-Dube. Those who read the book series, feel that the storyline has been changed drastically, and what they were looking forward to seeing isn’t really there. One of the lead actresses on Season II, Khanyi Mbau, even agreed with the viewers stating that The Wife on Showmax is more of a crime drama with lots of prison scenes, missing people, as well as hate and mystery, than a love story.

Another thing that viewers are disappointed about is the casting. When the show made it’s debut, not so many were feeling Bongo Khoza, who plays the lead role of Mqhele Zulu. They soon warmed up to him though. Even Khanyi bagging the role of Zandile had so many people unhappy, saying there are more deserving stars. The latest addition to the cast members, Gaisang K Noge is now the current talk of town.

The actress has been cast to play Naledi, who according to the book is a plus size woman. It goes without saying that Gaisang is curvaceous, but she doesn’t look like a size 40-42 as the book paints out Naledi to be. This has angered a lot of people, who feel that thick women are hardly given opportunities to play these impactful lead roles.
