SA Celebs React to Julius Malema’s Powerful Statements During His Recent Court Case Against Afriforum. Love him or hate him, he is one person who has had an impact on the political landscape of this country. For one Julius Malema is not afraid to speak his mind, regardless of the position he finds himself in.
Recently Malema appeared in the court to testify in the hate speech case AfriForum brought against him, EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and the party for allegedly singing the anti-apartheid song dubul’ ibhunu. The song loosely translates to ‘Shoot the Boer‘. As always the EFF leader was ready to defend himself as well as dish out more.
As he took to the stand as a witness, he spoke about the trauma of white farmers and black South Africans. Julius asked AfriForum’s advocate Mark Oppenheimer why they (white people) find it difficult to ask for forgiveness from Blacks over the years of mistreatment. He said the Shoot the Boer/Dubul’ibhunu” is not a command, and the word “boer” or “farmer” doesn’t refer to an individual but represents the system that dispossessed black people of their land.
“Why do you want to become victims, when we are the biggest victims here, when we have lost everything, when we as black people remain a traumatized nation?” Malema said.
During a heated exchange with the advocate, Malema also said that it was only a matter of time before he becomes president of the country.
“I will preside over the affairs of this country, including presiding over you. I think you must start adjusting to that reality. The sooner you do that, the less chest pains you will have when that reality comes,” Malema also added.
Of course, he immediately trended on social media with a lot of people applauding him for his powerful statements. Personalities like Ntsiki Mazwai, Major League DJs, Simphiwe Dana, Lulo Cafe, Lady Du and so many others shared their views on what Malema said.
