But having the dirty laundry aired in public it’s just another thing. Sadly, this is exactly what is happening in the Madonsela household between a mother and her daughter.

Sunday evening Wenzile Madonsela dropped a bombshell when she tweeted about how toxic her mother Thuli Madonsela is. This came after the former Public Protector shared a tweet about how self doubt causes people to rely on external validation. This then led to Thuli’s first born daughter, Wenzile saying her mother was sub-tweeting her.

“I’m tired of the marks and fake decorum. We are a normal family with problems, but this is hurtful and stooping low. Stop it, it’s toxic,” Wendy responded to her mother’s tweet.

In another tweet, the author and activist said her mother could have just said her name instead of making a general statement. This was after Professor Madonsela said people need to fix relationships with themselves so that they can have healthy relationships with others.

As expected, this altercation caught a lot of attention on social media and immediately sides were taken. While some commended Wenzile for standing up for herself to address her “toxic” mother, others bashed her for taking family matters to social media. They even defended the professor, saying she did not mention anyone’s name in her tweets.
