Lalela Mswane Crowned Miss Universe 2021 2nd Runner Up
Lalela Mswane Crowned Miss Universe 2021 2nd Runner Up. This goes on to show that you don’t necessarily need support to show your potential. Lalela Mswane has been going through the most in the past couple of weeks for taking part in Miss Universe 2021 pageant. The beauty queen was dragged for not boycotting the pageant despite the cruel treatment of Palestinians at the hands of the apartheid Israel regime.
Members of the public, pressure groups, public figures, and even the South African Government wanted nothing to do with her, should she continue with the pageant. There was so much pressure for her to abandon the whole competition. On top of everything, there wasn’t much hype for Mswane, when she left for Israel, but that did not stop her from shining.
Mswane did so amazingly well that she made the top three at the 70th Miss Universe pageant. The reigning Miss South Africa said a few weeks ago, that she was determined to serve South Africa proudly the best way she could. And she did just that. Mswane wowed the crowd in one of her speeches where she urged young women to “choose courage over comfort”.
“I would like young women to know that since the beginning of time they have had everything within them to achieve anything they wanted, it is the world that convinced that we do not,” she said.
Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned the queen and Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira became the first runner-up. Congratulations to the three ladies.
