Eskom Moves to Stage 4 Load Shedding
Eskom Moves to Stage 4 Load Shedding. Although this is sad news to share, it is always better to know in advance so you prepare yourself. It looks like this month of October, we will deal with a number of power issues. Just at the beginning of the months, Eskom announced that we should embrace ourselves for a load reduction. Fortunately the issue was rectified and things went back to normal.
This was short lived though, as we have to deal with more issues. Over the past couple of days residents have been experiencing stage two load shedding. Eskom made an announcement that this will go on until Saturday October 30th. What makes the situation even more unbearable is that there are rains in most parts of the country and the weather is a bit chilly.
Sadly things have just taken a drastic turn. From 12 pm today, (Wednesday 27th) Eskom will implement load shedding stage four. This stage of load shedding means that up to 4000MW of capacity needs to be shed. Consumers can expect to be shed up to 12 times over a four-day period for two hours at a time, or 12 times over an eight-day period for four hours at a time. This is due to a shortage of generation capacity.
The stage four load shedding will go on until 05:00 on Friday. From there we will go back to load shedding stage two until Saturday at 05:00. Should there be any changes during this period, Eskom will communicate immediately.
