Statement! Thembisa Nxumalo Expresses Gratitude after Battling Long COVID. Surviving covid-19 is one experience that no one should take for granted. A lot of people have died from this virus, and mostly those who survive deal with a lot of complicated after effects.
Just a few weeks ago, the nation mourned Shona Ferguson, who passed away after battling the virus. So may influential people including Jackson Mthembu who served as a Minister in the Presidency, died from Covid-19 complications. A month ago, Johannesburg Mayor Geoff Makhubo also lost his life to the cruel virus.
Some celebrities like Thembsie Matu, Zola Hashatsi, Bishop I Makamu and a whole lot more have also shared their stories of how they almost lost their lives to Covid-19. One who recently shared her story is Thembisa Nxumalo. The award winning media personality and actress has been on and off hospital for two moths fighting long covid-19.
Although Thembisa will be out of work for six months to recover, she is grateful that she is alive. She extended her gratitude to her supporters, friends, colleagues, but most importantly her loving family. Thembisa also thanked the medical staff that took care of her during her battle with Covid-19.
Long COVID is a condition where people continue to experience COVID-19 symptoms for longer than usual after initially contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus. These long-term effects may include fatigue, respiratory symptoms, and neurological symptoms. We are happy that Thembisa managed to beat the monster, and wish her nothing but good health during her 6 months rest period.
