Thembi Seete Gushes Over Being Among The Icons Honored By Sowetan. To celebrate their 40th anniversary Sowetan Newspaper has partnered up with Netflix are taking us back way into time. Social media is filled with beautiful pictures of 40 hottest pop-culture icons, some of which passed away years back
Among those ho have been featured are Brenda Fassie, Yvonne Chaka-Chaka, Sipho Hot-Sticks Mabiza, Jacqui Mofokeng, Thembi Nyandeni, Johnny Clegg, PJ Powers, Africa Tsoai, Mbuzeni Zulu, Tladi Khuele, Thembi Seete and Lebo Mathosa.
The newspaper recreated the icons images using the young stars like Khosi Ngema, Sthandile Nkosi and Candice Modiselle. Thembi, who is best known as one of the members of the kwaito supergroup Boom Shaka, from 1994-2000, is thankful for being counted among iconic stars.
“The feeling of being truly honoured is nothing short of amazing. I look back at the trials I’ve conquered and this really means that I have made a DIFFERENCE. I can’t thank you enough for the support and journeying with me. Also, I am grateful to God that I am still alive to witness such love and appreciation.
The journey is never easy, but always worth it,” Thembi said.
