Is This Mapula Mafole’s Next Hustle After Rhythm City?

Is This Mapule Mafole’s Next Hustle After Rhythm City? When a show comes to an end, it goes without saying that there will be jobs lost. Unfortunately even hit shows have been canned in the past couple of years, leaving the cast and crew members without work. In November 2020, it was aouced that popular e.tv soapie Rhythm City was coming to an end. This left fans shocked, because it is one of the most loved shows on TV.

Rhythm City has wrapped up shooting, and will air its last episode on 16th July 2021.The decision to decommission Rhythm City is part of a business strategy, which includes reviewing a show’s on-air life cycle. In keeping with e.tv’s mandate on local productions, Rhythm City will be replaced by another local daily drama, adding to a now increased local offering of 4 daily dramas.

What will now happen to the familiar faces that have been entertaining thousands of people daily? Lucky ones like Mduduzi Mdakanehave already been recruited by other shows. He is part of the DiepCity cast, which started airing on the 5th of April 2021. Mduduzi plays the devilish Bra Elliot, a criminal who has been terrorizing the community for years. Having mentioned that, the truth of the matter is that, the majority of Rhythm City actors have not found jobs yet.

Just two months ago, Mapula Mafole, who plays Mapule on the show prayed for more opportunities. “Waking for work, I can’t believe RC (Rhythm City) days are coming to an end soon. It’s really been a journey of growth. I’ll always be grateful,” she wrote.

It looks like she has found something to sustain herself while she is still waiting for an acting gig. The talented actress and model, is joining the growing number of female DJs in the country. She took to social media to show off her amazing skills, and also encouraged others to chase their dreams while they are still alive.

Grew up around DJ’s and I always wanted to do this thing that they do… I highly recommend chasing your dreams whilst your still alive. If God is for you, doesn’t matter who’s against you,” Mapule said.
