Tweeps Excited Over Katlego Maboe’s SAFTA Nomination. The nominees for the 2021 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) have just been announced. As expected everyone is talking about the nominees as well as sharing various opinions over the selections.

Looking at the nominees, it goes without saying that the competition is quite tight. The likes of Bonang Matheba, Sindi Dlathu, Presley Chweneyagae, Menzi Ngubane, Meshack Mavuso, Lawrence Maleka, Petronella Tshuma, Shoki Mmola, Masasa Mbangeni, Zola Nombona, Mothusi Magano and Mapula Mafole are among the many stars who got nominated this year.

There is however one nominee that has got the country talking, and that is Katlego Maboe. Maboe has been included in the nominees for the prestigious SAFTAs, for the Best Television Presenter category. The award winning TV personality will go up against Afternoon Express’s Palesa Tembe, Dineo Ranaka from Yimlo, Hectic on 3’s Enhle Bizane, Devi Sankaree Govender from The Devi Show, as well as Come Again’s Katchie Nzana and KN Verslag in Gesprek’s Waldimar Pelser.

Maboe has been out of the spotlight since 2020 when a video of an altercation between him and his wife, Monique Muller, went viral. In the video, Maboe confesses to cheating. There was also a case of alleged domestic violence. As expected all of this had a negative impact on his career. Maboe was removed from The Expresso Morning Show on SABC and had to ditch his Ousturance adverts as well. But hey it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel thanks to his recent nomination.
