Lasizwe Pledges R10 000 Towards Any Student’s Tuition Fees
Lasizwe Pledges R10 000 Towards Any Student’s Tuition Fees. Lasizwe has always been among celebrities who do what he can to help those in need. We still remember how he offered to pay for counseling to one Twitter user, who identified herself as a rape victim back in 2020. Lasizwe was also one of the celebrities who gave out electricity vouchers during tough times caused by lockdown.
Even when it comes to helping out students, the media personality and YouTube content creator, is never left behind. In 2018, Lasizwe helped some learners with their school fees. He picked four primary as well as high school students who did well in their grades. Understandably, he was not able to reach out to tertiary students because the fees were steep.
With the whole Wits University protest currently going on, Lasizwe has availed himself to once again help where he can. He has pledged R10 00.00 towards any selected student’s tuition fees.
This will definitely come in handy for the person receiving the money, since a number of students are faced with financial exclusion. Higher Education minister Blade Nzimande also recently announced that the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) does not have sufficient funding for the 2021 academic year. So its tough for a lot of students.
“In light of the #WitsProtests, I would like to contribute R10 000.00 towards a student’s tuition fees.. I will randomly pick a student from my YouTube Subscribers on the 18th of March 2021, 7pm on a LIVE on My YouTube Channel,” Lasizwe announced.
The offer is open to any student who is in South Africa, and also willing to study in the country. The lucky student must also be willing to be on his YouTube channel. The winner will be picked from Lasizwe’s YouTube subscribers on the 18th of March 2021. We hope this noble gesture will move other people who has the means to help out our struggling students.
