Just the other day, Gert-Johan Cotzee dressed multi award winning America rapper, Cardi B. The likes of Rich Mnisi, David Tlale, Thula Sindi and Nandi Madida are some of the local designers who have done amazing things outside the country.
Another local designer who has also made waves internationally in his career, is Laduma Ngxokolo. In August 2020, his fashion brand, MaXhosa was featured on British Vogue among seven African Fashion Brands to know and wear. Moving onward and upwards, the award winning designers recently announced that MaXhosa By Laduma has a acquired yet another international deal.
The cast of Coming 2 America, which boast, Holllywood giants like Eddie Murphy, and Arsenio Hall, will get to rock his designs. Ngxokolo whose work speaks for itself, was called by American costume designer for film and television, Ruth Carter to co-work with her on a few MaXhosa Africa pieces for the upcoming film. How cool is it that another South African, Nomzamo Mbatha, is part of the cast Coming 2 America!
