“It’s A Poorly Paying, Thankless and Abusive Job,” Tito Mboweni On Politics
“It’s A Poorly Paying, Thankless and Abusive Job,” Tito Mboweni On Politics. South African Twitter tends to heat up mostly at night. That is when celebrities and public figures share tweets you wouldn’t normally expect from them.
Tuesday evening it was Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s turn. It looks his disagreement with the cigarette ban propelled Tito to take matters to Twitter where he seriously vented. He boldly spoke about the harsh realities of being a politician and questioned why people want to be in power.
“I have often asked myself the question: What is the art of politics? The Path to Power and how to stay in Power! And lead your People correctly. Corruption free. Why do people want to be in Power, actually? Why? It’s a poorly paying, thankless and abusive job,” he said.
Tito likened obeying the majority rule to swallowing a rock. Could he be regretting his decision to come back to Government.
