Makwa On What Makes His Relationship With Kwesta Special. Kwesta and Makwa are among the best hip-hop duos who frequently collaborate on massive projects. The two have created major hits together such as “Khethile Khethile” and “Umguzumbane We Summer”. Makwa and Kwesta’s bond is so strong, that it even goes beyond the studio. They are as close as blood brothers, something that is a need in the industry.

Over the past decade, much of Kwesta’s success has come with his producer Makwa. The two first met in 2013 after Kwesta heard Makwa’s song “Intwe Right” and tracked him down. Makwa went on to produce many of Kwesta’s biggest tracks, including the multi-platinum hit single “Ngud'” and major contributions to the successful album Dakar II while working together under the Rap Lyf label. Just like any friendship, Kwesta and Makwa have had some challenges. They have however managed to rise above them, and are back at giving us nothing but hits.

What makes their relationship special is that Makwa and Kwesta treat each other like brothers. When one needs something, they can easily pick up a phone and ask. They give each other advise, and above all they have massive respect for each other.
