Work Integrated Non-Technical Learner Opportunity at Transnet Eastern Cape, Durban & Western Cape

The programme also provides an opportunity to learn how professional teams operate while developing confidence and practical workplace skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with specific projects within an assigned department or workstream.
  • Perform routine operational tasks under supervision.
  • Support administrative activities, including documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops and mentorship programmes.
  • Shadow experienced professionals to gain practical workplace knowledge.
  • Take part in problem-solving activities to develop analytical skills.
  • Interact with customers, suppliers and internal teams to understand business needs.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and project progress.
  • Serve as a contact point for queries and assistance when required.
  • Conduct market research and support data collection activities.
  • Assist with analysing information to support business decisions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Follow Transnet policies, procedures and applicable safety regulations.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards.
  • Protect confidential information and demonstrate integrity in all assigned duties.

Requirements and Skills

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of all theoretical subjects from N4 to N6 in Office Management, Human Resources or Marketing Management.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • No bursary obligation with another company.
  • Most recent confirmation letter or supporting letter from the educational institution.
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate.
  • Certified academic record.
  • Certified copy of South African ID.
  • Preference will be given to People with Disabilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and workplace procedures.
