Winnie Mashaba Marks 25 Years of Her Mother’s Passing With A Beautiful Tribute. The loss of a mother is such a painful experience. It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened, or how old you are, this is one pain that doesn’t easily go away. Winnie Mashaba, who lost her mother 25 years ago knows the pain very well. She however, finds ways to appreciate, celebrate and honor her late mother,which helps to ease the pain.
When Winnie lost her mother, she was still young. Even worse, the multi award-winning musician had already lost her father. Despite the loss,Winnie went on to become a success as a singer, thanks to her amazing voice. She credits her success to the teachings and values her mother instilled in her.

My father in heaven called my mother to be with him on the other side. Modimo a saka a re lahla. 25 years ago on this day we lost the one who loved us to the fullest, the woman who protected us with everything she had. A woman that chose her children over others. A woman who taught me about the importance of sharing with others. A very jolly yet strict woman who made sure that we were well taken care of.
