Permanent Part-Timer Opportunity at adidas Retail Crossing

The adidas Retail Crossing store in Gauteng is looking for a Permanent Part-Timer to join its retail team. This opportunity is suited to an energetic and customer-focused individual who enjoys fashion, sportswear and working in a busy retail environment. The successful candidate will support the store team with customer service, sales, merchandising, stock movement and general store operations. You will also have the opportunity to build valuable retail experience while developing your product knowledge and customer service skills.

The Permanent Part-Timer will assist management with the day-to-day running of the store while ensuring that adidas customers receive a high standard of service. The role requires someone who can work well with others, take initiative and remain flexible when business needs change. You may be required to work during weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on the store roster. Previous fashion retail experience is advantageous, but it is not essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide every customer with a high level of adidas service.
• Process sales transactions involving cash, credit cards, cheques and other approved payment methods when required.
• Assist with product ticketing and check relevant paperwork against items received.
• Support the movement of products from the stockroom to the sales floor when required.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of merchandise displays according to store management guidelines.
• Learn and use the point-of-sale system effectively while following all relevant policies and procedures.
• Use appropriate selling techniques, including add-on sales, to increase sales opportunities.
• Explain product features and technical information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
• Greet customers and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
• Act as a greeter at the store entrance during busy trading periods when required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and general housekeeping throughout the store.
• Safeguard company assets and follow all relevant company procedures.
• Monitor the sales floor and report suspicious activity as part of the store’s loss prevention procedures.
• Follow security procedures and SLAP requirements.
• Participate in in-store and digital training programmes, including Atticus and AREA, to improve product knowledge and understand role best practices.
• Become familiar with Power BI tools to understand store performance, best-selling products and blackhole products.
• Support the wider store team with other duties as required by management.

Requirements and Skills

• Matric certificate.
• 0 to 1 years of retail experience.
• A genuine passion for retail and customer service.
• Strong interest in fashion and sportswear.
• Clear, confident and positive communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision.
• Ability to adapt to different tasks and changing circumstances.
• Flexibility to work during weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Confidence when interacting with customers.
• Strong selling and customer service skills.
• Previous fashion retail experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
• Confidence in helping customers create suitable looks and choose products that meet their needs.
