Applications Open for the Media24 Woolworths Taste: Digital Editorial Internship Programme. The Woolworths TASTE team creates content for the Woolworths Food department across platforms including the website, newsletters, video, print and social media. We are looking for an enthusiastic Digital Editorial Intern to support the editorial team across digital content production. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a content marketing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a 12-month internship where you’ll do cool things like:
- Uploading recipes and articles to the TASTE website
- Resizing images for the website and newsletters
- Assisting with creating newsletters
- Assisting with updating the website homepage and moderating comments on the website
- Participating in brainstorms for print and digital content with the broader team
- Writing content for taste.co.za, including listicles and columns
- Optimising content for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation)
- Keyword research for editorial support and idea generation
- Meta title and description writing, alt tags for editorial and sales content
- Working with AI to streamline processes
- Assisting on video shoots
- Appearing on camera as part of the TASTE team
What You’ll Learn
In this role, you will work closely with the Content lead, social media manager and editorial assistant. You will see how content gets made – from brainstorm, to shoot and publishing.
The Tech Stuff:
- How to work with a WordPress CMS
- Working with bulk mailing tech
- Basic Photoshop skills
- Basic video editing skills
- Social media scheduling tools
- SEO and AEO tools
- AI tools for the media world
The Strategic Stuff:
- Best practices for uploading content, resizing images, newsletter design and social media scheduling
- Basic SEO and AEO practices for editorial support
- How content marketing works in practice
- How to balance client needs with what works for the audience
- What goes into food styling
- What goes into production for a magazine
- What goes into a print or video shoot
- How content planning works

The Official Stuff
This is an internship, so we don’t expect five years of work experience (in fact, we expect none!). But there are a few things we do need you to have, these include:
- Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a qualification in
media, marketing, advertising or a related field. - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- A keen eye for detail, good organisational skills, plus creativity and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

- Curious and interested in the work you do and the media and content marketing industry in general
- Able to communicate clearly and ask questions when you need to
- Passionate about the work you do and do it to the highest quality standards
- Have an interest in food and media
Good to Have…
- Previous writing experience for a brand or blog
- Experience working with WordPress or another CMS
- Experience with photo editing tools (Photoshop, Canva, or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of project management and communication tools such as Asana, Slack, or Monday.com
