Clicks Shelly Beach is offering five Shop Assistant / Cashier opportunities for individuals who are passionate about customer service, retail operations and creating positive shopping experiences. As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you will play an important role in ensuring smooth store operations by assisting customers, processing transactions accurately and maintaining excellent merchandising standards. The successful candidates will represent the Clicks brand by providing friendly, efficient and professional service while supporting the store team in achieving operational and sales goals.

About the Role

The Shop Assistant / Cashier is responsible for delivering service excellence through effective point of sale operations, customer assistance and general store support. You will assist customers at the till, promote Clicks ClubCard benefits, maintain product displays and ensure the store remains welcoming and well organised.

This role requires individuals who can work accurately under pressure, follow procedures and provide customers with a positive experience from entry to checkout.

Key Responsibilities

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, your duties will include:

• Process customer purchases accurately using the point of sale system.
• Scan merchandise correctly and collect payments efficiently.
• Handle cash responsibly and follow all cash management procedures.
• Assist customers with queries and provide professional service.
• Promote the Clicks ClubCard programme and encourage new customer registrations.
• Inform customers about current promotions, offers and products.
• Act as a Clicks brand ambassador by providing friendly and helpful assistance.
• Maintain merchandising standards and ensure products are displayed correctly.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the store clean and organised.
• Assist with stock related tasks and ensure shelves are properly maintained.
• Maintain updated product knowledge to provide accurate information to customers.
• Support the store team in achieving customer service and operational targets.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good communication abilities.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.

Advantageous Experience

The following experience will be beneficial:

• Previous experience in a customer facing retail or FMCG environment.
• Knowledge of merchandising principles.
• Understanding of stock management procedures.
• Experience working with point of sale systems.
