Job Overview

The Youth Employment Service (YES) programme at Eskom PTM Engineering offers successful applicants the opportunity to perform administrative support functions within the Generation PTM Engineering division. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical knowledge of office administration, communication and workplace processes in a professional engineering environment. The programme is designed to equip young South Africans with valuable work experience that improves future employment prospects while building essential administrative and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support within PTM Engineering.
• Assist with daily office and administrative tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Support departmental operations and workflow.
• Assist with filing, data capturing and document management.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Follow company policies, procedures and workplace standards.
• Perform general office support duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling company information.
• Contribute to an organised and efficient work environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members across the department.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and within deadlines.

Requirements and Skills

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must be between 18 and 34 years old.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• A post-matric certificate or programme will be advantageous.
• Must not have been permanently employed by a single employer for longer than one continuous year.
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment.
• Must not have participated in or registered for the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme previously.
• Willingness to learn and develop new workplace skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
