Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for its Sunward Park store in Boksburg, Gauteng. Job Overview And Responsibilities
• Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines within the legal scope of practice
• Support the compounding, preparation and manufacturing of non sterile medicines according to approved procedures
• Assist with the repackaging, storage and distribution of medicines and scheduled substances
• Support the ordering and stock control of medicines according to authorised instructions
• Prepare prescriptions for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Capture prescription details accurately and verify patient information on the dispensing system
• Ensure accurate picking, packing, labelling and preparation of medication
• Provide patients with clear instructions on the correct use of prescribed medicines
• Keep up to date with medical aid procedures and claim requirements
• Assist patients with self medication and front shop healthcare products
• Process medical aid claims and correct rejected prescriptions where required
• Assist with authorisation processes for chronic, HIV, AIDS and oncology medication
• Maintain accurate customer profiles and update patient records when necessary
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to management
• Receive and merchandise pharmacy stock according to FEFO principles
• Participate in stock takes and maintain stock, cash and asset control standards
Requirements And Skills
• Grade 12 or Matric certificate
• Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
• Working experience using the Unisolv pharmacy system
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office knowledge
• Strong numerical and calculation skills
• Excellent communication skills in English and a second language
• Customer service focused with strong interpersonal skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong problem solving and time management skills
• Honest, trustworthy and able to work well under pressure
• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Knowledge of retail or FMCG operations will be advantageous
• Knowledge of SAP, E-Scripting, family planning and complementary medicine will be beneficial
• Valid driver’s licence and clear criminal and credit records
