Thomas Gumede On How Football Has Shaped His Son’s Character

Thomas Gumede On How Football Has Shaped His Son’s Character. Talent definitely runs in the family. Just like his famous parents, Cebelihle Gumede also oozes talent. The young boy is an upcoming footballer, who keeps on making everyone around him proud.

The 6-year-old young boy is the son of Zola Nombona and Thomas Gumede. From both his parents’ social media platforms, one can tell that he is a great footballer in the making. What is even more heartwarming is how Zola and Thomas are supportive of him. Zola constantly shares content about him playing football, and she as a doting mother all the way behind him. In October 2025, Thomas spent four weeks supporting Cebo, as his team took on the Spring League Tournament. The team went on to win all the matches, ultimately becoming champs. The proud father expressed joy, hailing his son, as well as his team. Thomas also added that it’s up to Cebo what he wants to do as a career, at the moment he is happy of the lessons he is learning in his football hobby.

Once again the proud father has updated his online community on his son’s football journey. Cebo’s team has won yet another tournament. Not only that, he is improving both as a player, and character wise, something that makes his father happy.

This past weekend with the champ and his @tshiama_academy family! They won the tournament and on the coldest weekend and did it having fun! His game is improving, but more importantly his character. When he gets hurt he gets up again and keeps going. He fights for the ball like I bought it for him for Christmas😅 He apologizes if he fouls another player and he celebrates his team mates goals like he scored! He scored an amazing long ranger and we all celebrated like we won the World Cup! Being this guys father in the best thing to ever happen to me🙏🏾 Asbonge Umdali🙏🏾🙏🏾 Shout out to the @tshiama_academy photographer 🔥,” Thomas said.
