Job Overview
The Beauty Assistant plays a key role in supporting the beauty department through professional product advice, customer engagement, and strong sales execution. You will assist customers in selecting suitable skincare and beauty products while ensuring that the department maintains high merchandising and operational standards.
This role requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and a customer focused mindset. You will act as a brand ambassador for Clicks and help build long term customer loyalty through service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Consult with customers and provide expert beauty and skincare advice
• Recommend products based on customer needs and preferences
• Drive sales through cross selling and upselling techniques
• Meet and exceed monthly sales targets for the beauty department
• Stay updated on beauty trends, product ranges and promotions
• Maintain strong knowledge of skincare and cosmetic products
• Support stock control and ensure accurate merchandising
• Assist with product displays and visual merchandising standards
• Ensure cleanliness and professional presentation of the beauty department
• Minimise stock loss and support shrinkage control processes
• Promote Clicks ClubCard and drive customer enrolment
• Strengthen brand loyalty through private label product promotion
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times
Requirements And Skills
• Grade 12 or Matric qualification required
• Beauty or skincare qualification is an advantage
• Experience in retail, FMCG, beauty or sales environment is beneficial
• Strong understanding of selling principles and customer service
• Knowledge of beauty and skincare products and trends
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in engaging with customers
• Ability to work towards targets and meet sales goals
• Understanding of merchandising and stock control principles
• Strong attention to detail and product knowledge accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast paced retail environment
