Just recently, Tyla scooped two awards at the 52nd American Music Awards. The multi-award-winning singer and songwriter was nominated under four categories at the 52nd American Music Awards (AMAs). She has brought home two awards, which are Social Song of the Year and Favourite Afrobeats Artist. The other categories that Tyla was also nominated under, are Best Female R&B Artist and Best Music Video.
Of course Tyla’s win was celebrated globally, but South Africans had the bragging rights. She trended on the mainstream media as well as social media. Local news channel, eNCA featured Tyla on the news, congratulating her for her win. Reacting to the gesture, she has taken to her Instagram to express gratitude. Tyla doesn’t take it lightly that she is being celebrated, loved and supported massively here at home. The Grammy Award-winning musician is also up for two nominations at the 2026 BET Awards, next month. Of course, she stands a high chance of making history at the BETs, making South Africa all proud once more.
