Social Media Reacts to the Departure of Sizwe Dhlomo From Kaya. This is one departure that many did not see coming. Sizwe Dhlomo announced live on air on Wednesday morning that he was leaving Kaya FM after six years with the radio station.
Sizwe joined the Home of the Afropolitan as the host of the newly revamped Monday to Thursday afternoon-drive show, in the 6th of July 2020. The celebrated media personality brought a vast knowledge of current affairs, popular culture and business acumen to the show. Sizwe then moved to the Siz The World breakfast show from April 2024. He hosted alongside Sol Phenduka, Nosipho Radebe who delivers the news, and Mpho Maboi the team’s morning sports enthusiast.
Now Sizwe has dropped a bombshell on listeners announcing that he is leaving Kaya. He revealed he is taking a sabbatical, and went on to state that when he decides to return to the airwaves, the station will definitely not be his home.
Fans on socials media are sharing how heartbroken they are by the news. One event stated they feel like they have just been dumped. Another loyal listener credited Sizwe for reviving their radio habit. His former co-host Sol Phenduka reacted with ‘Damn bro, gone kanje?‘ while Dhlomo replied playfully; no details yet on his last show or next steps.
